I recently had the chance to explore the stunning Moroccan architecture, and let me tell you, it was an absolute dream come true. From grand mosques and palaces to traditional riads, Morocco’s rich architectural heritage is truly breathtaking.   1. Hassan II Mosque: As one of the largest mosques in the world, the Hassan II Mosque is a masterpiece of modern Islamic architecture. Located in Casablanca, the mosque’s intricate details and stunning ocean views are a must-see for any architecture enthusiast. The best time to visit is during the non-prayer hours, as it’s open to non-Muslim visitors. There’s an entrance fee of around 130 MAD, but trust me, it’s worth every penny.
  2. Bahia Palace: A true gem of Moroccan architecture, the Bahia Palace is located in the heart of Marrakech and is one of the city’s most popular tourist destinations. With its lush gardens and intricate details, it’s easy to see why. The palace is open daily, and the entrance fee is around 70 MAD. Don’t forget to bring your camera!
  3. Riads: Riads are traditional Moroccan houses with an interior garden or courtyard, often converted into luxurious hotels. Staying in a riad is a unique and authentic way to experience Moroccan architecture.   4. Kasbahs: If you’re interested in traditional Moroccan fortresses, make sure to visit Ait Benhaddou Kasbah. The best time to visit is during the cooler months of October to April, as the temperatures are more comfortable for exploring. The entrance fee is around 10 MAD.
  5. Medersas: Moroccan medersas are traditional Islamic schools featuring stunning architecture and intricate details. The Bou Inania Medersa in Fes is one of the most famous medersas in Morocco, with its beautiful tilework and detailed carvings. The entrance fee is around 20 MAD, and it’s open daily except for Fridays.
