Best time to visit

The best time to visit Austria depends on what you want to do while you’re in the country. If you’re planning on hitting the slopes, the winter months are the ideal time to go. The ski season typically runs from December to April, but the best time to go skiing in Austria is from late January to early March.

If you’re not interested in skiing or snowboarding, summer is the best time to visit Austria. The weather is warm and sunny, making it the perfect time to hike, bike, or just relax by the lake. The peak tourist season runs from June to August, but the months of May and September can also be a great time to visit.

While you will be able to use your credit or debit card in some places, it’s a good idea to have some cash (euros) on hand for taxis, public transportation, and small purchases.

When it comes to language, the official language of Austria is German. However, English is also widely spoken.

If you’re a citizen of the United States, Canada, or any other country in the European Union, you don’t need a visa to visit Austria.
