SERENGETI

SAFARI COMBINED WITH ZANZIBAR

Tanzania is a vast country located in East Africa. It’s home to some of the continent’s most iconic landscapes, including the snow-capped Kilimanjaro, the vast plains of the Serengeti and the majestic Zanzibar archipelago.

The capital and largest city is Dodoma. Dar es Salaam, the former capital is Africa’s third largest city, with over 4 million residents.

Tanzania is a country located in East Africa. It is bordered by Kenya to the north, Uganda to the west, Rwanda, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west, and Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique to the south. The country’s eastern border is the Indian Ocean.

The country is an incredible place, and there are many things to see and do.
Tanzania is a popular tourist destination, due to its diverse wildlife, including the “Big Five” animals (lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and rhinoceros). Here are some of the must-see experiences in Tanzania: Mount Kilimanjaro, the Serengeti, Zanzibar, Ngorongoro Crater.

Best time to visit

Tanzania is a year-round destination, but the best time to visit depends on what you want to see and do. For wildlife enthusiasts, the best time to go is between June and October, when the annual wildebeest migration full swing. For those looking to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the best time is between January and March. Generally, the best time to visit Tanzania is during the dry season. The weather is warm and sunny, and there is less chance of rain.

Everything you should know before you go

Before you travel to Tanzania, it’s important to be aware of the dangers. Although the country is generally safe, there have been reports of crimes, robberies and sexual assaults.

It’s also important to be aware of the risk of contracting malaria, which is endemic in Tanzania. I’ve chosen to get vaccinations and to take preventive pills against malaria from the doctor.

The official language is Swahili, though English is also widely spoken.

The currency is the Tanzanian shilling. US dollars are also accepted.

Plugs in Tanzania are the same as in the UK, so you will need a adapter if you are travelling from another country.

There is a lack of ATMs and reliable internet so I’ve chosen to take cash at the airport.
